Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker purposely one of the Star Wars expulsions is an example of what happens when money becomes paramount in franchise building. JJ Abrams proves safe pair of hands in this crowd pleasing but unadventurous finale to the latest trilogy of the space opera. Technically slick and emotionally performed, this final instalment is definitely entertaining but the considerable fan service and nostalgic callbacks make it less epic than we might have hoped.

The Rise Of Skywalker is hated because no creative choices were taken to make everyone happy. It is the worst Star Wars in the entire saga because, yeah, everything that's supposed to happen, happens. That's it. No surprises whatsoever, no true moment of greatness, but a predictable plot filled with nostalgia and fan service as if to answer "We're sorry, it won't happen again !" to the outcry of The Last Jedi. Star Wars used to be simple but never dull, this time it's both.

I've been a Star Wars fan from the first trilogy that I've watched when I was 7 or 8. It was a simple yet powerful story, greatly entertaining but always - from the very beginning - with major flaws. I've always thought that it was a common thing among fans to just accept these flaws and go with it. Some great work has been done in the extended universe with the comics and recently the series "The Mandalorian", but when it comes to the trilogies, no masterpiece was ever there. It's always been a patchwork of inspirations with no original content but it worked with its simplicity and universality, and sometimes, with true moments of greatness. That's the way I've always considered Star Wars. If there is anyone to blame for the uselessness of The Rise of Skywalker, it's neither Disney, Rian Johnson or J J Abrams but the hardcore fans.

This film is decent enough. I see a lot of people find this film to be a disservice to star wars fans and i partly agree with them. It didn't capture the craftsmanship and the brilliant storytelling of the original trilogy. JJ Abrams didn't know what direction to take with this film. It felt disoriented and muddled at times. It is a decent film but not the best star wars film. I did find the ending quite satisfying personally. But this film was definitely a let down.

Disney plays it really safe with the latest entry into the Star Wars universe. It manages to find a way to include homage and fan service for fans of the original and prequel trilogy. Some might find themselves disappointed in it's inability to provide much more but if you just go into this with open mind and ready to just have a fun time with likeable characters than there are rays of light to be found in the final entry of the Skywalker Saga.

J. J. Abrams knows how to do awesome visual stuff, he has a great eye to discover actors, and he knows how to do great action scenes. But, definitely, he's not Steven Spielberg. To do a movie or a TV series like Lost you need to know what's your story about. If George Lucas would be able to get the CGI of this last trilogy he would have done unforgettable prequels. Yes, George Lucas had a plan. Episode I, even though is lame because nobody looks to the CGI creature which is in front of (except the kid), renders are in its 1.0 version, costumes were designed by a kitschy Circe du Soleil designer, and Natalie Portman was making her firsts steps acting, you can see that there was a meaningful script. Something different from the oldies but an opening that finished in one of the best movies of the Star Wars Saga. Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith.

I watched all Star Wars movies and the new Episodes are such a big disappointment...if I knew how bad it is I would never bought the movie tickets. The previous one was bad and I was hoping they learned their lesson but apparently not. Story or lack of it is so shallow, if we are over powered let's just stick together and blow up their dark side fleet just like it was in Last Hope 1977. Kylo Ren is so weak and Ray easily defeats mighty emperor like it's nothing just need two light sabers.Because its Disney now everything has be happy ending and be cheesy.what a joke. If you really like "True" Star Wars go back to old Episodes or Watch Rogue One and Mandalorian.

Will this agony ever end, bleats c-3po in star war episode IX:the rise of skywalker ,and you can see where he is coming from. Not that the film is agony as such - its actually a fast moving action packed, swashbuckling swords n sorcery space opera with typically high standards of production design and visual effects, and a pleasing blend of gloom and humour.

The film is bad, as bad as the rest of the trilogy that was wholly unneeded and attempted to reboot the whole thing for Disney's kiddie demographic via copying what Lucas had done albeit with weak actors and actresses, no character development and cheap directing.Zero original ideas, zero vision. Zero emotional investment in the story. Zero chemistry between leads. Such forgettable, inconsistent characters.

The story in the rise of skywalker, is not existing. It just chaos. People running around doing stuff in a pace which seems to be an attempt to hide an incredible high amount of plot holes and inconsistencies. Even the ideas which could have been awesome fall flat due to the lack of an overall structure in the story and what seems to be a fear of surprising the fans.If you just want a movie with stunning visuals, high amount of fan service and where everything happens as you predicted, then the rise of skywalker may be a good star wars movie.

This last Star Wars episode pushed all the right buttons for me, as a fan and someone who grew up with the original trilogy, I felt it was a satisfying end to the saga. There is plenty of fan service in this movie, which I didn’t mind at all as I thought those moments were done quite well, but won’t be to everyone’s taste, and there will be plenty of people who would have been hoping for something different. This final chapter felt more Star Warsy to me than the previous chapter and had some great moments. Some great performances again from Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver who were superb in their scenes together. Anthony Daniels as C3PO was also fantastic in this episode, it felt like he had a much bigger role this time around and played the comic relief superbly. Overall the most enjoyable episode of the last three for me.

This is the best Star Wars movie, in my opinion. The characters that I hated in the previous two have grown into characters that I genuinely enjoy. The action is definitely the best, probably even better than Rogue One's. The story is a perfect ending to the series as a whole, and every bad review I have seen is talking about plot holes; the movie moves faster than some others, but that doesn't mean it's bad pacing, it is just quick pacing. Bad pacing would be too fast to comprehend, or half of the movie moves differently than the other. All these plot holes that people say are there are explained throughout the movie.

Didn't think anyone could deliver a satisfactory ending to the saga but JJ pulls it off. Firstly, the opening crawl is a little alarming and instantly makes you think that these are things that should have happened in episode 8 or at least on screen somewhere. The pacing is a little fast, particularly in the first act, but balances out early in the second and with the kinda final act you'd expect from a star wars movie, makes the whole thing feel like a rollercoaster ride. The rush at the start is mostly because of the obvious damage control/course correction needed after the last film, which is done very well without completely disregarding Rian Johnson's efforts, and in some cases, using them to add to the story. Lots of excitement, plenty of fan service ,but without being intrusive in it's presentation, and good conclusive story arcs for most of the key characters. The visuals are incredible as you would expect and despite a few minor complaints, overall a very enjoyable movie. It seems the Force will be with us...always!

I grew up in the 90s, and the Phantom Menace was the first star wars movie to pull me in to the universe. Now I have watched the whole series in it’s entirety more times than I can count. I can honestly say that this movie brings a good mix of old and new. I feel like bad reviews this movie and the last two have received are from the old fanatics that are set in their ways and will defend The Empire Strikes Back until the day they die. Don’t get me wrong, these last 3 movies did have flaws, but have an open mind, take in the little things. The reunions, the goodbyes, the visuals, the cameos, the callbacks, and you will be pleasantly surprised. Star Wars is an iconic franchise only rivaled by a few. It will always draw a crowd and will always be a cash cow. I just feel like too many people had their hand in the mix and it kinda convoluted what could have been. The reason the marvel movies spanned so seamlessly for over 11 years and beyond is because one man, Kevin Feige. He oversaw every production and had an endgame in place from day one. (No pun intended). So overall a good movie. Great visuals and effects. I love the use of puppets, make up, and animatronics over CGI. Story telling moves a little fast and you will miss a few key scenes of you blink at the wrong time, however it didn’t feel overly rushed. The character arcs feel genuine, although a few things are left unfinished or unsaid between some characters. This movie felt the most serious of the new trilogy. Not a bad thing but I expected a little more light humor. They also handled Carrie Fisher beautifully. For a movie that started filming after her death, they did a tremendous job including her and making her scenes feel organic.

The ability this movie has to curb the elements this vast universe has, into a fulfilling, true to the bone dark versus light, galaxy saving spectacle, can truly be the called the final chapter that Star Wars deserves. The variety of stories tied together, the mixture of seemly dis pare plot lines left over and dead ends that other Star Wars movies left for the momentous task of culminating, resulted in a satisfying creation by the mind of JJ Abrams and crew. No essence of being a carbon copy, no needless nostalgia triggers, and no useless "big picture" modern day issue moments that detached fans from the previous movies in the modern trilogy. The pureness of saving the galaxy, brothers and sisters in arms, and good versus evil circled the wholesome development of the main characters ensemble. Rise of Sky-walker felt like it achieved a high rank in my books, by giving real life to the priorities of the new characters, as well as more diverse character relationships that weren't at all reflective of any that came before it. I sincerely loved the resulting product of the modern trilogy despite the ups downs and awkward/ needless noise the previous movies left off with. This movie satisfied my tensions towards Star Wars and left me with a a trilogy that delivers a wholesome edge of your seat experience full of exiting battles, massive plot development and outstanding direction of such a complex galaxy to navigate, that you left free to move onto the next beautiful creation Lucas Film has to offer.

Murali posted a review for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker in Movies
The Rise of Skywalker, the stakes are raised not only because it attempts to wrap up a story arc spanning three trilogies, but also because it follows what proved to be the most divisive episode in the entire series. After the reinvigorating thrills some fans howled with frenzied derision at the Last Jedi, feeling betrayed by its somewhat iconoclastic take on the series ever-expanding mythology, a complaint Abrams appears to have taken to heart. Stylistically, The Rise of Skywalker returns to the aesthetics of The Force Awakens, juggling rocket-fuelled action sequences dogfights, desert chases and saber-battles abound – with straight-faced “dark v light” standoffs, retaining the thread of humour that dates back to A New Hope while still taking the unfolding events deadly seriously. While Rian Johnson delighted in wrong-footing viewer expectations Abrams keeps things closer to home, reviving that strange sense of quasi-mystical cod-reverence that was the hallmark of Lucas’s original productions.

Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is the ninth and final film in the four-decade-long Skywalker saga (and the third installment in the current trilogy). Following the events of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, the film focuses on the battle between the villainous First Order, led by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), and the virtuous Resistance fighters, embodied by the last Jedi, Rey (Daisy Ridley). Everything is on the line in this installment, which means the sci-fi action violence is ratcheted up a notch: You can expect even more major space battles, high-stakes destruction, tense chases/crashes, peril, injury, and fierce lightsaber duels (plus blasters, arrows, cannons, and other weapons). This movie feels a little more intense/darker than the previous two in this trilogy, with creepy villains/locations and a few explicit (but not bloody) deaths, including a beheading, a point-blank execution, and a body crumbling to bits. Spoiler alert: Several primary and supporting characters are killed, and a few of those deaths will be extra emotional for audiences.

Let me say this... In no way is The Rise of Skywalker a perfect movie, it has its flaws. But that doesn't change the fact that I loved it. Yes it has tons of fan service. Yes most of the events were predictable. And still... It was everything I want Star Wars to be. Funny, exciting, a bit odd sometimes but with a group of loveable characters at it's core. Say what you will, but I loved Star Wars since I was 6 years old and this new movie just made me feel like a very happy kid again
